Welcome to Unit 642

We are the only Scouting America unit based in Seal Beach, CA. Founded in 1973, we’ve had hundreds of Eagle Scouts over the years, and average a half-dozen a year lately. We are a larger than average unit, with just under 70 boys registered and active. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive group open to all personalities and levels of devotion to Scouting. We want each boy to have the best experience possible, so we offer a lot of experiences for them to choose from as they wish.

When we meet and where

We meet on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 7 pm. During the school year we meet at the North Seal Beach Community Center located at 3333 St Cloud, Seal Beach CA 90740. During the summer we meet at Rush Park in Rossmoor. We camp and have other outings a few times per month and are active volunteers in our community.

Our approach to Scouting

Our unit bases patrols on grade level, having 1, 2 or 3 patrols per school year. We have an active group of dedicated adult volunteers, but all adults are expected to contribute in some meaningful way.

Youth Protection is of the highest importance.  View information on Scouting’s policy and see how to get trained!  Click Here
